I think downloading a movie over-night or during the day while at work is viable solution, no it’s not as fast as running out to the store and buying a copy, but it’s not an extra trip. There are other problems areas that limit the viability of this:
Storage - Do most people have enough drive space to store a serious collection of HD quality movies?
Watchablity - How many people are running home theater pcs or want to watch it on their computer monitor?
File format/DRM - Are people going to be able to burn their movies do disk if they want or re-encode it to watch on a different device?

I have to agree a little with the downloadable content conspiracy because of the HUGE profit margins being reported from Xbox Live. Microsoft is a software company that has shown itself to be highly concerned with protecting their content. Digital files locked inside of your Internet accessible computer provide much more opportunities for Microsoft to do just that.
[Gripe warning] I know these podcasts are edited because of the cheesy sound fx added. So, can you please take out the large dead air mistakes? [end of gripe]
